Southern Corn Bread

This southern corn bread recipe is easy and delicious with a good dollop of butter and jam. Good addition to our New Years Day menu.

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup honey or sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup canola oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk


  • Mix all ingredients in a bowl.
  • Put mixture in a greased 8 x 8 pan (or double batch for a 9 x 13).
  • Bake at 400 degrees for 22 minutes.
