Chinese Potato Sticks
These Chinese potato sticks are a take-off of the western french fries, however these are flavored with soy sauce and chili. Try these for a change of pace in your game day menu.Note: You can change the number of people served by placing your cursor over "Servings". The Ingredients will adjust to the new number of servings.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds Russet potatoes
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 red chili halved
- 1 onion small, quartered
- 2 cloves garlic halved
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon salt kosher
- 1 pinch chili powder
Instructions
- Peel the potatoes and cut into thin slices along their length. Cut the slices into matchsticks. Blanch the potato sticks in boiling water for 2 minutes and drain well. Dry on absorbent paper towels.
- Heat the oil in a preheated wok until almost smoking. Add the chili, onion and garlic to the wok and stir-fry for 30 seconds. Remove and discard the chili, onion and garlic.
- Add the potato sticks to the oil and fry for 3-4 minutes, or until golden. Add the soy sauce, salt and vinegar, reduce the heat and fry for 1 further minute, or until the potatoes are crisp.
- Remove the potatoes with a slotted spoon and drain thoroughly on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt and eat.
